A routine day of the Banzaiteam.
Depending on the amount of alcohol we consumed the previous day, we normally wake up around 7:30 - 8:00. After a fresh shower and packing our bags, we take our breakfast for champions; 2 eggs with 2 slices of baked mystery "meat", accompanied by a cup of cold instant coffee, with milk, when we are lucky. Around 9:00 we start riding for about 2 hours (200km) and then stop to take gasoline. Every time we can hear Peter in the background telling us "I can still ride around 350km". Silently Johan and Carl fill up the tanks of the Yamaha's knowing that within the next 50 km some crucial part will fall of the BMW. Another 100km and we stop for a another delicious cup of instant coffee with or without milk. A plate of chicken or pork and off we go again.
When stopping at a bar, hotel, gas station or somewhere along the road, it takes an average of 4 seconds before we start our standard Russian dialogue with some local guy. It goes something like this;
Russian guy: "Atkuda" = where are your from?
Reply: "Belgica"
Russian guy: "Kuda "= where are you going?
Reply: "Japonia"
Russian guy: surprised and warning us for "Radiation" = Fukushima problem
Reply: reassuring " No problem"
Russian guy: pointing to bike and rubbing thumb and index finger together = how much cost bike?
Reply: lifting both shoulders simultaneous while tilting head to the left or right = none of your f#%kin business.
End of conversation...
Around 17:00 - 18:00 we start looking for a place to sleep. So far we did not had too many problems finding a suitable ( read cheap ) accommodation. Price varies from 15 to 35 euros per person per night. The price difference comes from a room with pets or without pets. (to clarify, we did not bring any pets)
After checking into the hotel we normally always immediately go to bed, but occasionally we sometimes, on exceptional occasions go out for one (1) beer (note that the wives are reading this blog as well).
This is the life of a Banzai-member and if we all would have money enough we would probably do this for the rest of our lives. Driving this far and this long with 3 guys creates a special bond. Because we are busy all day riding our bikes, we have a lot to talk about once we arrive at our destination. We look out for each other and also depend on each other. The three of us have more or less the same riding style which means we don't have to wait for each other so the ride goes quick and smooth. As long as Carl has his beer, Peter has his toilet and Johan can complain to the hotel staff that the internet is not working we are in perfect harmony.
